Laura Egerton came to Dubai in 2006 to join the founding team of Art Dubai and has been working within the UAE arts community ever since. Originally from London, she holds MA’s in the History of Art from Cambridge University and the Courtauld Institute of Art.
For this edition of UAE Unlimited she led a workshop on art writing, presenting the history of the discipline and formulating ways the artists can articulate their ideas. She has run such courses with Art Experts+ and the College of Fine Arts, University of Sharjah.
Other current projects include project managing Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first symposium, delivering regular curated trails for Alserkal Avenue, moderating talks and giving tours at Art Dubai and across the Emirates, editing the bi-annual Art Map and artist publications for Akkadia Press and the Jameel Arts Centre and writing for publications such as The National, Canvas, Selections and Open Skies.
