Nasser Abdullah (b. , location)is a curator and was previously the Chairman of the Emirates Fine Art Society (EFAS) from 2014 – 2018. At EFAS, Nasser also handled the role of Chief Editor of Al Tashkeel Magazine, one of the oldest arts publications in the region, started in 1984 with support from the Sharjah Art Foundation. In addition, Nasser had curated the Annual Exhibition of Emirates Fine Art Society in 2006 and 2018. While Chairman of EFAS, he initiated the UAE Art Archive project, a digital platform for the EFAS and its member artists’ archives, supported by Abu Dhabi Music and Art Foundation (ADMAF). In 2018, Nasser was co-curator of the critically acclaimed exhibition From Barcelona to Abu Dhabi: Works from Barcelona’s Museum of Contemporary Art in Dialogue with the Emirates, held in Abu Dhabi at Manarat Al Saadiyat. The exhibition showcased highlights from the MACBA collection alongside artworks by 20 Emirati artists. Lead by MACBA’s Director, Ferran Barenblit, and in partnership with Nasser, the exhibition proposed a journey about the role of art in contemporaneity. The exhibition focused on common rules of life in our cities and the way in which we can relate to our natural environment.
